The Polar Bear Migration

Day 1
Leave London Heathrow by Air Canada via Toronto to Winnipeg (2 hours 35 minutes). On arrival your Tour Manager, an experienced naturalist, will meet you and take you to the Hilton Suites Winnipeg Hotel.

Day 2
Winnipeg, capital of Manitoba, lies at the geographical centre of Canada. City sightseeing includes a visit to the superb Museum of Man and Nature.

Day 3
Transfer to the airport for the morning flight to Churchill (1½ hours), a former trading post on the Hudson Bay. Afternoon sightseeing, including the Eskimo Museum. Our stay in Churchill is at the Aurora Inn.

Day 4
The polar bears come to shore near Churchill as the ice forms for the winter and our itinerary includes full days on the icy tundra in specially-designed vehicles to witness the polar bear migration. During the day, it may be possible (weather-permitting) to take an optional 1 hour helicopter ride for an aerial view of this amazing phenomenon and when night has fallen, there will be an excursion to view (again weather permitting) the incredible Northern Lights as they illuminate the Arctic skies.

Day 7
Fly back to Winnipeg for overnight stay at the Hilton Suites Winnipeg Hotel. You may wish to spend the afternoon exploring.

Midday departure by Air Canada via Toronto to London.

Arrive London Heathrow in the morning.
