Oman is all about history, traditional values and hospitality, scenic contrasts, and a few high quality luxury Oman hotels. It is not the place for nightlife, shopping, organised sporting activity or a vibrant restaurant scene - all things that you will find in abundance in the more hedonistic and international Dubai. Please note that during Ramadan, (for approx one month), no alcohol is served and no live entertainment permitted. This might also apply to other religious/short duration Islamic holidays.

Weather Wise - For Muscat, the period November to April is particularly pleasant with day time temperatures generally around 29c. with pleasantly cooler evenings. From May onwards temperatures start to increase, reaching a mid summer peak of around 40ºc. Rainfall is minimal year round, although heavy showers can sometimes be experienced in the January -February period. The southern resort of Salalah has a more tropical climate, with the months of June to September quite damp and ‘green’, which proves particularly attractive to residents of the Gulf States anxious to escape the soaring temperatures elsewhere in the region.
