BarbadosLuxury Barbados Resort Holidays

Exclusive Barbados holidays ,the website for luxury hotel accommodation in Barbados. Our accommodation directory offers the finest accommdation on Barbardos.Barbados continues to be our clients' most favoured destination with many of you returning year after year – the reasons why are simple.

Barbados and the latest selection of hotels offer a level of sophistication, service and style which cannot fail to impress whether you're a regular visitor or experiencing the Caribbean for the first time. At the same time, Barbados has managed to retain its own truly tropical and unmistakably ‘Bajan’ atmosphere.

Only 21 miles long by 14 miles wide, Barbados has a surprising diversity of scenery, from the tranquillity of the Caribbean west coast, with its luxury hotels and palm fringed beaches, to the dramatic cliffs and wild Atlantic rollers of the eastern coast.

The interior has its own beauty as well. Green and lush, the spine of the island rises to more than 1,000 ft at Mount Hillaby while the rolling hills of the northern tip earned it the name Scotland District, from early settlers.

Did you know....?
Although British for almost 400 years, tradition tells us that the Spanish who visited Barbados in the early 16th century named the island Los Barbados – the bearded ones – after the Bearded Fig Tree's aerial root system, which resembled a Spanish nobleman's beard.

Food & Drink
Bajan cuisine is a spicy combination of African, Asian and European influences. The national dish, cou-cou (cornmeal and okra) and flying fish, reflects the island's passion for seafood, while yam and breadfruit provide a staple diet for Bajans. Beware Barbados' own special pepper sauce made from Scotch Bonnett peppers – seriously hot! Local fruits include delicious guavas, carambola (star fruit) and passion fruit.

Delicious Mount Gay rum and Banks' beer are made locally.

Restaurants
The finest restaurants, smart or barefoot, are on the west coast – reservations are essential in the season (a service which we are delighted to provide before you depart if you wish). The Cliff remains the best restaurant in the Caribbean with a magical combination of cliff top candlelight against an ocean backdrop and Chef Paul Owens' superb cuisine – very special. We also recommend the more contemporary Lone Star Garage, Daphne's (affiliated with Daphne's in South Kensington), La Mer at Port St Charles, Sassafras and The Fish Pot. Angry Annie's and Ragamuffins in Holetown are fun places to sample Bajan cuisine. On the south coast, Pisces at St Lawerence Gap and The Restaurant at South Sea are receiving superb reviews and come highly recommended. Champers is also one to consider, not least because of its situation in a beautifully renovated old Barbadian House with splendid views of Accra Beach.
